Error Code: E14 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Gas error – A flame was not detected on gas-heated dryers.
How to Fix E14 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the gas supply to the dryer at the shutoff valve.
- Unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet for safety and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Access the burner assembly, which may require removing the front or lower access panel.
- Inspect the igniter (part WE4X693 or 137524000) for any visible cracks or damage. A faulty igniter is a common cause.
- Check the flame sensor (part 137524000 or 5303281135) to ensure it is clean and positioned correctly in the path of the flame.
- Test the gas valve solenoids (kit 279834 or 5303931775) with a multimeter for proper resistance. If they fail the test, they must be replaced.
- After replacing any faulty components, carefully reassemble the dryer, turn the gas back on, and test for proper operation.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
