⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: I58 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Wash pump motor connection fault.
How to Fix I58 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dishwasher from power at the circuit breaker and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Pull the dishwasher out from its installation and carefully place it on its back on a towel or blanket.
- Locate the wash pump motor and its main wiring connector on the underside of the unit.
- Inspect the wiring harness for any visible signs of damage, such as burnt plastic, broken wires, or loose pins in the connector.
- Unplug and firmly reseat the connector to ensure a solid connection. Sometimes, vibrations can cause it to become loose.
- If the wiring appears intact and the connection is secure, the fault is likely internal to the wash pump motor itself.
- In this case, the entire wash pump assembly (Part #154844301, #807473201, or #154853801) must be replaced.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
