How to Fix ER-02 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Shut off the power to the dishwasher from your home’s circuit breaker panel.
  2. Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dish rack.
  3. Unscrew and remove the filter assembly and the lower spray arm to get access to the sump area at the bottom of the tub.
  4. The thermistor/turbidity sensor is located in the sump. It will have a wire connector attached.
  5. Carefully disconnect the wire harness from the sensor and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  6. Rotate the sensor (usually counter-clockwise) to unlock it from the sump and pull it out.
  7. Install the new sensor by pushing it in and twisting to lock it into place. Reconnect the wires and reassemble the filters and spray arm.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
