⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: ER-02 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: There is a failure with the thermistor or turbidity sensor.
How to Fix ER-02 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Shut off the power to the dishwasher from your home’s circuit breaker panel.
- Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dish rack.
- Unscrew and remove the filter assembly and the lower spray arm to get access to the sump area at the bottom of the tub.
- The thermistor/turbidity sensor is located in the sump. It will have a wire connector attached.
- Carefully disconnect the wire harness from the sensor and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Rotate the sensor (usually counter-clockwise) to unlock it from the sump and pull it out.
- Install the new sensor by pushing it in and twisting to lock it into place. Reconnect the wires and reassemble the filters and spray arm.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
