Problem: Tank temperature is low.
How to Fix E2 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker.
- Shut off the hot water supply valve, typically located under the kitchen sink.
- To access the heating element, you will need to pull the dishwasher out and carefully tilt it on its back.
- Locate the heating element at the bottom of the dishwasher tub. It is a circular metal tube.
- Disconnect the electrical wires from the two terminals on the element. Use pliers if they are tight.
- Remove the two nuts securing the element to the tub and gently pry the old element out.
- Insert the new heating element, making sure the rubber gaskets seal tightly. Re-secure the nuts, reconnect the wires, and carefully set the dishwasher upright.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
