Error Code: LOC Difficulty: Easy
Problem: The control lock is engaged, preventing the dryer from starting or being operated.
How to Fix LOC Error (Step-by-Step)
- Locate the ‘Control Lock’ button on your dryer’s control panel. This button is often marked with a small padlock icon.
- Press and hold the ‘Control Lock’ button for 3 to 5 seconds.
- Watch the display panel. The ‘LOC’ message or indicator light should turn off.
- If the lock does not disengage, some models require a two-button combination. Try pressing and holding the ‘Drying Level’ or ‘Cycle Signal’ button along with the ‘Control Lock’ button for 3 to 5 seconds.
- Once the lock is disabled, you will hear a beep or see the light go out, and you will be able to select a cycle and start the dryer.
- If the ‘LOC’ message persists, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet for 5 minutes to perform a hard reset on the main control board.
- Plug the dryer back in. The control lock should now be cleared and the dryer ready for use.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
