How to fix Bosch washer error F61

  1. 1

    Step 1

    1. Disconnect the washer from power by unplugging it from the wall outlet and shut off both hot and cold water supply valves. 2. Open the washer door and locate the metal retaining ring on the outer edge of the rubber door boot seal. Carefully pry the spring-loaded ring off using a flathead screwdriver. 3. Peel the door boot seal away from the front panel of the washer to gain access to the inside of the machine where the door lock assembly is located. 4. Remove the screws that secure the door lock assembly to the washer's front panel. The lock is typically held in place by two screws. 5. Carefully pull the old door lock assembly out. Disconnect the wire harness attached to it by pressing the release tab on the connector and pulling it straight out. Connect the wire harness to the new door lock assembly. 6. Secure the new door lock assembly to the front panel with the screws you removed earlier. Ensure it is aligned correctly with the door latch opening. 7. Re-seat the rubber door boot seal onto the lip of the front panel and secure it by reinstalling the metal retaining ring. Reconnect the power and water supply, then run a test cycle to ensure the error is cleared.
