How to Fix E34 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the washer from the power source and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  2. Open the washing machine door and locate the door lock assembly.
  3. Use a screwdriver to remove the outer retaining band that secures the door boot seal to the front panel.
  4. Peel back the door boot seal to access the screws holding the door lock assembly in place.
  5. Remove the screws and carefully pull the door lock assembly out, disconnecting the wiring harness.
  6. Connect the new door lock assembly to the wiring harness and secure it with the screws.
  7. Reattach the door boot seal and secure it with the retaining band.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
