⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E18 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Drainage Error; blockage in the filter or drainage system.
How to Fix E18 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Begin by cleaning the drain pump filter, which is located behind the service flap at the bottom front of the washer. Place a towel and a shallow dish below it to catch water before unscrewing the filter cap.
- Remove any lint, coins, or other debris from the filter and the pump cavity.
- Inspect the main drain hose at the back of the machine for any kinks or sharp bends that could restrict water flow.
- Disconnect the drain hose from the household drain pipe and check for any clogs at the connection point or within the hose itself.
- If the filter and hose are clear, the blockage may be in the internal sump hose connecting the tub to the pump. This requires removing the front or back panel for access.
- If all hoses are clear, the drain pump itself may have failed and will need to be replaced.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
