How to Fix D07 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the washing machine from the power supply and turn off the water faucets.
  2. Remove the screws holding the rear panel of the washer to access the internal components.
  3. Locate the drive motor situated at the bottom of the wash drum. You may need to slip the drive belt off the large pulley wheel.
  4. On the sides of the motor, find the two carbon brushes. They are typically held in place by a plastic housing and connected by a wire.
  5. Disconnect the electrical wire from each brush, then unscrew the brush assembly from the motor body.
  6. Examine the carbon block on each brush. If either is worn down to about a quarter-inch or less in length, they must be replaced.
  7. Slide the new brushes into place, secure them with the screws, reconnect the wires, reinstall the belt and back panel, and test the machine.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
