How to Fix E12 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the dryer from its power source by unplugging it.
  2. Access the back of the dryer and locate the thermal fuse on the heating element or blower housing.
  3. Carefully detach the wires connected to the fuse and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  4. Unscrew the thermal fuse from its mounting and remove it.
  5. Install the new thermal fuse and secure it with the screw.
  6. Reattach the wires to the terminals of the new fuse.
  7. It is critical to clean the entire venting system, from the lint screen to the outside exhaust vent, to address the cause of the severe overheating.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
