Problem: Condenser fan speed fault – fan not reaching required RPM
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator and pull unit away from wall to access rear compartment.
- Remove rear access panel covering condenser fan and compressor area.
- Inspect condenser fan blade for obstructions (pet hair, dust buildup on blades).
- Manually spin fan blade – should rotate freely without binding or grinding noise.
- Clean condenser coils thoroughly with coil brush to restore proper airflow.
- Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-200 ohms).
- On ECM condenser fans, verify tachometer signal wire shows proper voltage when fan spins.
- Inspect fan motor bearings for excessive play or seized condition.
- If motor resistance is good but speed signal is missing, replace condenser fan motor WPW
- After replacement, verify fan runs at proper speed during compressor operation and condenser coils remain cool to touch.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
