Problem: User interface keypad shorted or stuck key detected
How to Fix Washer Error
- Unplug washer and remove top panel to access user interface board connections.
- Disconnect ribbon cable or multi-wire harness connecting interface to main control board.
- Inspect keypad membrane for moisture damage, detergent residue, or physical punctures.
- Clean keypad surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and soft cloth.
- Check for stuck keys by pressing each button firmly and verifying it returns to rest position.
- Disconnect interface board and measure resistance across keypad matrix (should be infinite when no keys pressed).
- Press each key while monitoring resistance – should show momentary change then return to infinite.
- If any key shows continuous low resistance when not pressed, keypad membrane has failed.
- Replace user interface assembly W10870600 (includes display and keypad).
- After replacement, verify all buttons respond correctly and display shows proper characters during operation.
Still Not Working?
If the replacement part didn’t fix the issue, you may have a wiring problem or main board failure.
