How to Fix F9 E1 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Unplug the washer from power before starting the repair and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  2. Check the drain hose at the back of the machine to ensure it is not kinked, bent, or clogged.
  3. Disconnect the drain hose from the household drain pipe to check for obstructions at the connection point.
  4. If the hose is clear, you will need to access the drain pump at the bottom of the washer by tilting the machine forward.
  5. Place a shallow pan and towels under the pump to catch water, then disconnect the hoses from the pump by releasing the spring clamps.
  6. Disconnect the pump’s wire connector and remove the screws holding it to the washer base. Install the new drain pump (Part: W10536347).
  7. Reconnect hoses and wires, then carefully set the washer upright, restore power, and test the drain function.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
