Error Code: F9 E1 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Long Drain Time
How to Fix F9 E1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from power before starting the repair and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Check the drain hose at the back of the machine to ensure it is not kinked, bent, or clogged.
- Disconnect the drain hose from the household drain pipe to check for obstructions at the connection point.
- If the hose is clear, you will need to access the drain pump at the bottom of the washer by tilting the machine forward.
- Place a shallow pan and towels under the pump to catch water, then disconnect the hoses from the pump by releasing the spring clamps.
- Disconnect the pump’s wire connector and remove the screws holding it to the washer base. Install the new drain pump (Part: W10536347).
- Reconnect hoses and wires, then carefully set the washer upright, restore power, and test the drain function.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
