How to Fix DOOR LOCKED Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Begin by unplugging the washer from the wall outlet to ensure your safety. Turn off the hot and cold water supply valves connected to the washer.
  2. Open the washer door. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws that fasten the door lock assembly to the front panel of the machine.
  3. Locate the metal spring clamp that holds the large rubber door boot seal against the front panel. Carefully pry this clamp off using a spring expansion tool or pliers and set it aside.
  4. Gently peel the rubber door boot seal away from the front panel opening. You only need to create enough space to reach your hand behind the panel to access the door lock.
  5. Reach inside the opening and find the door lock assembly. Press the small tab on the wire harness connector to unplug it from the lock. You can now completely remove the old lock assembly from the washer.
  6. Position the new door lock assembly in place and securely plug in the wire harness connector. Align the lock with the screw holes on the front panel and reinstall the two screws you removed earlier.
  7. Carefully re-seat the rubber door boot seal onto the lip of the front panel, ensuring it is smooth and even. Reinstall the metal spring clamp to secure the boot seal. Plug the washer back in, turn the water on, and run a test cycle to confirm the door locks and the error is gone.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
