Locate the water filter, which is typically in the grille at the base of the refrigerator or inside the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment.
If in the grille, turn the filter cap counterclockwise to a vertical position and pull it out.
If inside the refrigerator, there may be a push-button or a twist-off cap to release the filter.
Remove the old filter by pulling it straight out and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
Align the new filter with the housing and push it in until it clicks into place.
