Error Code: TS / T5 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Thermistor error. This indicates a problem with the temperature sensor.
How to Fix TS / T5 Error (Step-by-Step)
- SAFETY FIRST: Disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet to prevent any electrical shock.
- ACCESS THE THERMISTOR: On most Amana dryers, you will need to remove the rear panel. Use a quarter-inch nut driver or a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the panel in place.
- LOCATE THE THERMISTOR: The thermistor is a small, white, plastic sensor located on the blower housing, which is typically found on the lower right side of the dryer’s rear.
- REMOVE THE OLD THERMISTOR: Disconnect the two wires attached to the thermistor. Then, remove the single screw that holds the thermistor in place and carefully pull it out.
- INSTALL THE NEW THERMISTOR: Position the new thermistor (Part WP8577274) in the same location as the old one and secure it with the screw. Reconnect the two wires to the terminals on the new thermistor.
- REASSEMBLE THE DRYER: Carefully replace the rear panel and secure it with the screws you removed earlier.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
