Error Code: F8E5 Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Door switch error.
How to Fix F8E5 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the dryer from the power outlet to prevent any electrical shock.
- Open the dryer door and carefully inspect the door latch and the opening it fits into on the dryer frame. Look for any lint, debris, or small articles of clothing that could be blocking the door from closing completely.
- Use a soft cloth, slightly dampened with water, to clean the area around the door latch on the door and the corresponding slot on the dryer body.
- Locate the small plastic peg on the inside of the door that presses the door switch. Check to see if this peg is cracked, bent, or broken off.
- Find the door switch, which is a small button located in the opening of the dryer frame. Press it in with your finger and listen for a ‘click’ sound. If you don’t hear a click, the switch might be stuck.
- Close the door firmly to ensure it latches properly. You should hear a solid click as it closes.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
