How to Fix F29 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before beginning the repair.
  2. Open the dryer door to access the area around the opening.
  3. Remove the screws holding the top panel of the dryer on, located at the rear of the machine, and slide the top panel off.
  4. Locate the door switch, which is typically found near the top of the door opening.
  5. Disconnect the wire harness that plugs into the door switch.
  6. Depress the small locking tabs on the side of the switch and push it out from the front panel.
  7. Snap the new door switch into place from the front, reconnect the wire harness from behind, and reassemble the top panel.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
