How to Fix ERR Error (Step-by-Step)

First, open the dryer door and close it firmly to ensure the latch is fully engaged. Check for any clothing or items obstructing the door.
If the error continues, unplug the dryer from the power outlet.
Open the dryer door and locate the door switch assembly inside the door frame.
Use a putty knife to release the two clips holding the top panel down, located in the gap between the top and front panels. Hinge the top panel up and back.
From the inside, locate the door switch. Unscrew it from the front panel and disconnect its wire harness.
Connect the new door switch (Parts: 279570, WPW10610880), screw it back into the front panel.
Lower the top panel and snap it back into place. Plug the dryer in and test by starting a cycle.
Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
