⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: HC Difficulty: Easy
Problem: Indicates that the hot and cold inlet hoses have been installed incorrectly.
How to Fix HC Error (Step-by-Step)
- Turn off the power to the dishwasher at your home’s circuit breaker.
- Shut off both the hot and cold water supply valves, which are typically under the kitchen sink.
- Carefully slide the dishwasher out from under the counter to access the back where the hoses are connected.
- Identify the hot and cold water inlet connections on the dishwasher. They are usually marked.
- Verify that the hose from the hot water supply is connected to the hot water inlet, and the cold water hose is connected to the cold water inlet. If they are reversed, swap them.
- Ensure both hose connections are tight to prevent leaks and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Slide the dishwasher back into place, turn the water and power back on, and start a new cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
