Error Code: F9E1 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Drain pump failure.
How to Fix F9E1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the dishwasher from power at the circuit breaker and shut off the hot water supply valve under the sink.
- Disconnect the water supply line and drain hose from the house plumbing. You may need to unscrew mounting brackets under the countertop before sliding the dishwasher out.
- Carefully lay the dishwasher on its back on a soft towel to access the components underneath.
- The drain pump (Part W10537869) is connected to the main sump. Place a shallow pan underneath to catch any remaining water.
- Squeeze the hose clamps with pliers to disconnect the hoses from the pump. Unplug the electrical connector. Twist the pump, usually counter-clockwise, to release it from the sump.
- Install the new pump by twisting it into the sump until it locks. Reconnect the electrical harness and the hoses, securing them with the clamps.
- Tip the dishwasher upright, slide it back into place, reconnect water and drain lines, restore power, and run a drain cycle to check for leaks and proper function.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
