Problem: Indicates a door switch fault.
How to Fix F5E1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- For your safety, switch off the dishwasher’s circuit breaker in your home’s electrical panel.
- Open the dishwasher door. You will see a series of screws along the perimeter of the inner door panel.
- Using a Torx screwdriver, remove all of these screws to separate the inner panel from the outer door.
- The door switch (Part WPW10274880) is located near the top, as part of the latch mechanism. Unplug its wire connector.
- Press the small plastic tabs holding the old switch in place and pull it out of its housing.
- Snap the new switch into place, reconnect the wire harness, and reassemble the door.
- Restore power and run a test cycle and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
