1. First, press the ‘Cancel’ button to terminate any running cycle, which may be keeping the door locked.
2. Check the countertop above the dishwasher to ensure no items, like a cutting board or dish towel, are hanging over the edge and physically blocking the door from opening.
3. Inspect the area around the dishwasher on the floor for any items, such as kitchen mats or fallen utensils, that could be obstructing the bottom of the door.
4. Gently try to push the door fully closed to ensure it is properly latched, then try to pull the handle to open it again.
5. If the door will not open, go to your home’s circuit breaker panel and turn off the power to the dishwasher.
