⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Refrigerator Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Freezer fan undercurrent fault – insufficient current draw indicating open winding
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator and remove rear wall panel in freezer compartment.
- Locate evaporator fan motor and disconnect wiring harness.
- Measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-150 ohms).
- If resistance is infinite (open circuit), motor windings have failed.
- Inspect motor connector for bent pins or corrosion preventing proper connection.
- Check wiring harness for broken wires near motor strain relief.
- Verify proper voltage reaches fan connector during operation (12V DC or 120V AC).
- If voltage is present but motor doesn’t run and resistance is infinite, replace evaporator fan motor WPW
- After replacement, verify fan operates at correct speed and provides adequate airflow over evaporator coils.
- Monitor temperature stabilization in freezer compartment within 2 hours of repair.
