⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Refrigerator Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Freezer fan stall detected – fan motor locked during operation
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator immediately to prevent fan motor burnout.
- Remove rearwall panel in freezer compartment to access evaporator fan.
- Inspect fan blade for ice buildup completely blocking rotation (common after door left ajar).
- Thaw ice accumulation using hair dryer on low setting – never force blade rotation.
- After ice removal, manually spin fan blade – should rotate freely without binding.
- Inspect fan blade for physical damage (cracks, bent blades) causing imbalance and stalling.
- Check fan motor bearings for seized condition – should rotate smoothly by hand.
- Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-150 ohms).
- If motor resistance is good but fan stalled due to ice, clean evaporator drain to prevent recurrence.
- If motor bearings are seized or resistance is infinite, replace evaporator fan motor WPW
