⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: Refrigerator Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Inverter compressor overcurrent fault
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator immediately to prevent compressor damage.
- Remove rear access panel to access inverter board and compressor terminals.
- Disconnect compressor wiring from inverter and measure winding resistance between terminals (should be balanced 3-8 ohms).
- Check for short to ground by measuring resistance between each terminal and compressor shell (should be infinite).
- Inspect condenser coils for excessive dirt restricting airflow causing compressor overheating.
- Verify condenser fan operates properly during compressor run cycles.
- Check refrigerant lines for proper insulation – missing insulation causes liquid floodback damaging compressor.
- If winding resistance is unbalanced or shorted to ground, compressor has failed (requires sealed system repair).
- If compressor tests good but error persists, replace inverter assembly W
- After repair, monitor compressor current draw during startup (should not exceed 12 amps for more than 3 seconds).
