How to Fix Refrigerator Error

  1. Unplug refrigerator and pull unit away from wall to access rear compartment.
  2. Remove rear access panel covering condenser fan and compressor area.
  3. Locate condenser fan motor mounted near compressor (typically 120V AC motor with 3-4 blades).
  4. Manually spin fan blade – should rotate freely without binding or grinding noise.
  5. Disconnect fan wiring harness and measure resistance across motor terminals (should read 50-200 ohms depending on model).
  6. Verify 120V AC reaches fan connector during compressor operation (use multimeter with refrigerator running).
  7. Inspect fan blade for cracks or obstructions (pet hair, dust buildup on condenser coils).
  8. Clean condenser coils thoroughly with coil brush and vacuum to restore airflow.
  9. If motor resistance is infinite or fan doesn’t run with power applied, replace condenser fan motor WPW
  10. If fan tests good but error persists, replace main control board W10890099 (failed fan driver circuit).
