How to Fix FAE1 Error (Step-by-Step)
- First, confirm that both the hot and cold water faucets supplying the washer are turned on completely.
- Unplug the washer from its power source and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
- Unscrew the water inlet hoses from the back of the machine. Check for any kinks in the hoses.
- Look inside the water inlet ports on the washer for small filter screens. These can get clogged with sediment over time.
- Carefully pull the screens out with needle-nose pliers and clean them thoroughly with a small brush and water. Reinsert them once clean.
- If cleaning the screens does not solve the problem, the water inlet valve (part W11210463) is likely defective and needs to be replaced.
- Replacing the valve involves removing the washer’s top panel, disconnecting the hoses and electrical clips from the old valve, and installing the new one in its place.
