Error Code: DE Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Door error.
How to Fix DE Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from its power source by unplugging it from the wall outlet.
- Open the washer door to access the door lock assembly, which is located on the front frame of the machine where the door latches.
- To access the lock, you must peel back the outer portion of the large rubber door seal (bellow). This is often held in place by a spring clamp that can be carefully pried off.
- With the seal pulled away, you will see the screws that mount the door lock assembly to the washer’s frame. Remove these screws.
- Carefully reach in and pull the lock assembly out. Disconnect the electrical wire connector attached to the back of the lock.
- Plug the wire connector into the new door lock assembly, position the new lock in place, and secure it with the mounting screws.
- Re-secure the rubber door seal with its clamp, plug the washer back in, and test the door.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
