⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: C7 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Heating element fault.
How to Fix C7 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from the power outlet and shut off both water supply valves.
- Drain any remaining water from the machine by lowering the drain hose into a bucket.
- Remove the lower front access panel or the entire rear panel, depending on your model, to access the heating element at the base of the tub.
- Locate the heating element terminals. Disconnect the electrical wires attached to them.
- Loosen the central nut on the element. This will release the pressure on the rubber seal, allowing you to remove it.
- Carefully pull the old heating element (Part #137488301) straight out of the tub. Some wiggling may be required.
- Insert the new heating element, tighten the nut to create a watertight seal, reconnect the wires, and reassemble the access panel.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
