How to Fix FAE5 / F10E5 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker to ensure safety.
  2. Shut off the water supply valve, which is typically located under the kitchen sink.
  3. Place towels on the floor and carefully slide the dishwasher out from under the counter.
  4. Remove the lower front access panel(s) to get a view of the base pan.
  5. Use a sponge or towels to completely soak up all the water that has collected in the pan. The error is triggered by a sensor that detects this water.
  6. Carefully inspect hoses, the water inlet valve (part W11175935), and the pump assembly (part W11545743) for the source of the leak and replace the faulty part.
  7. Once the leak is repaired and the pan is dry, reconnect power and water and run a test cycle to check for leaks before sliding the unit back into place.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
