How to Fix E15 Error (Step-by-Step)

1. Turn off power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker and shut off the water supply valve, typically located under the kitchen sink. Place old towels on the floor in front of the unit to catch any water.
2. Carefully slide the dishwasher out from under the counter. You may first need to remove two mounting screws that secure the dishwasher to the underside of the countertop.
3. With the dishwasher partially pulled out, gently tilt the unit forward or backward about 45 degrees to allow the water collected in the base pan to drain out onto the towels. This step is necessary to reset the anti-flood safety switch.
4. Lay the dishwasher on its back to get clear access to the components underneath. Locate the drain pump (Part: 00631200), which is a common source of leaks.
5. Disconnect the electrical wire connector attached to the drain pump. Place a shallow pan underneath to catch residual water, then twist the old pump counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it from the sump housing.
6. Align the tabs on the new drain pump with the slots in the sump housing. Push the new pump in firmly and twist it clockwise until it locks securely into place. Reconnect the wire connector to the new pump.
7. Carefully return the dishwasher to its upright position, slide it back into the cabinet, and secure the mounting screws. Reconnect the power and water supply, then run a short wash cycle to confirm the leak is fixed and the E15 error does not return.
8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
