How to Fix E13 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the dishwasher from power by unplugging it or switching off the circuit breaker. Turn off the water supply valve, usually located under the sink.
  2. Carefully pull the dishwasher out from under the counter. You may need to disconnect the drain hose and water inlet line from the house plumbing first. Have a towel ready for any water that may spill.
  3. Gently lay the dishwasher on its back to access the bottom panel. Locate the NTC temperature sensor, which is part of the heater assembly at the base of the tub.
  4. Disconnect the wire harness connected to the sensor. Note the orientation of the wires before disconnecting.
  5. Remove the old sensor. It is typically held in place by a clip or by twisting it out of the heater assembly. Be prepared for a small amount of water to drain out.
  6. Install the new NTC sensor (part 00165281), ensuring it is securely seated and the O-ring creates a good seal. Reconnect the wire harness.
  7. Carefully set the dishwasher upright, slide it back into place, and reconnect the water supply and drain hose. Restore power, then run a test cycle to ensure the error is resolved and there are no leaks.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
