How to Fix EC4 Error (Step-by-Step)

1. Unplug the washer from the wall outlet and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves.
2. Remove the screws holding the top panel of the washer in place, then slide the panel off to expose the internal components.
3. Locate the main control board, which is typically a plastic-encased circuit board with numerous wires connected to it.
4. Take a clear photo of the wire connections on the old board to use as a reference for installation.
5. Carefully disconnect all wire harnesses from the old control board. Most connectors have a small locking tab that needs to be pressed to release.
6. Remove the mounting screws or release the clips holding the old control board in its housing and lift it out.
7. Position the new control board in the same location and secure it with the mounting screws or clips.
8. Reconnect all the wire harnesses to the new board, referring to the photo you took earlier to ensure each connector goes to the correct terminal.
