How to Fix E70 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the power cord of the washer from the wall outlet.
  2. Locate the water temperature sensor (NTC thermistor). It is usually pushed into a rubber grommet on the wash tub or mounted directly on the heating element assembly.
  3. You may need to remove the front or rear service panel for access.
  4. Disconnect the two wires leading to the sensor and confirm the error stays cleared during a full test cycle.
  5. Set a multimeter to measure resistance in Ohms (Ω). Test the sensor by placing a probe on each of its two terminals.
  6. At room temperature, you should get a reading of several thousand ohms. If the reading is zero or infinite (OL), the sensor is defective and must be replaced.
  7. Pull the old sensor out and install the new one, then reconnect the wires, reattach the panel, and restore power.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
