⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: E61 Difficulty: Hard
Problem: Insufficient heating; the water does not reach the programmed temperature.
How to Fix E61 Error (Step-by-Step)
- Disconnect the washer from the power outlet to ensure safety.
- Locate the heating element at the bottom of the wash tub; you may need to remove the front or rear access panel.
- Carefully disconnect the two wires attached to the heating element terminals.
- Use a multimeter set to the ohms setting to test for continuity between the element’s terminals. A reading of 10-30 ohms is typical; a reading of infinity indicates a faulty element.
- Locate the temperature sensor (NTC) on the heating element or tub, disconnect its wiring, and test its resistance. It should read several thousand ohms and change with temperature.
- If either the heating element or the temperature sensor tests faulty, replace it with the new part.
- Reconnect all wiring, reassemble the access panel, and plug the washer back in to test.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
