How to Fix E43 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Cut power to the washer by unplugging the power cord from the wall.
  2. The lock triac is part of the door lock assembly. You will need to replace the entire assembly. Start by opening the washer door.
  3. Locate and remove the spring-loaded clamp that holds the rubber door bellow (seal) onto the front panel.
  4. Gently pull the bellow away from the opening to get access to the door lock assembly.
  5. Unscrew the two screws holding the door lock in place.
  6. Reach in and disconnect the wiring plug from the back of the lock assembly.
  7. Plug the wiring into the new assembly, screw it into place, and carefully refit the door bellow and its clamp.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
