How to Fix E20 Error (Step-by-Step)

1. Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the main circuit breaker to ensure safety.
2. Shut off the water supply and disconnect the drain and supply lines from the appliance.
3. Carefully pull the dishwasher out of its cabinet. You may need to lay it on its back on a protective towel to access the bottom components.
4. Locate the main pump (also called a heat pump or circulation pump) and the main control module.
5. Methodically disconnect the wiring harnesses and hoses attached to the pump. Take photos beforehand to remember the connections.
6. Unbolt and remove the old pump. At the same time, locate and replace the control module, carefully transferring each wire connector to the new board.
7. Install the new main pump, ensuring all hose clamps and electrical connections are secure. Set the dishwasher upright, reconnect utilities, and run a test cycle.
