How to Fix E20 Error (Step-by-Step)

  1. Disconnect the washer from both the power outlet and the water supply.
  2. Locate the heating element, which is typically found at the bottom of the washtub.
  3. Carefully disconnect the wires attached to the heating element terminals.
  4. Remove the nuts or screws that are securing the heating element in place.
  5. Gently pull the old heating element out of its housing. You may need to wiggle it slightly to release it from the seal.
  6. Insert the new heating element, ensuring the rubber seal is properly seated to prevent leaks.
  7. Reconnect the wiring and securely fasten the new element with the original nuts or screws.
  8. Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
