How to Fix E4A Error (Step-by-Step)
- Unplug the washer from the power outlet to prevent electrical shock.
- Open the washer door. Use a screwdriver to pry off the outer spring clamp that holds the rubber door boot seal to the front panel.
- Peel the door boot away from the front panel around the door lock area to gain access to the lock assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical wire connector from the door lock assembly.
- Remove the screws that mount the door lock assembly to the washer’s front panel and take out the old part.
- Install the new door lock assembly, secure it with the mounting screws, and reconnect the wire harness.
- Re-secure the door boot seal with the spring clamp, plug in the washer, and test the door lock.
- Turn the appliance off, wait about 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
