How to Fix EA Error
- Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. Tape the lid shut.
- Carefully tilt the washer and lay it on its back or front on a towel to access the bottom.
- Remove the large bolt in the center of the rotor and pull the rotor off the motor shaft.
- Remove the bolts holding the motor stator to the tub assembly and carefully pull the stator off.
- The hall sensor is a small plastic component attached to the stator. Remove the screws or clips securing the old sensor.
- Install the new hall sensor, ensuring it snaps into place and the terminals are aligned. Secure it with its screws/clips.
- Re-install the stator onto the tub bearing housing and tighten the mounting bolts.
- Place the rotor back onto the shaft and secure it with the central bolt.
- Carefully set the washer upright, reconnect power and water, and run a test cycle.
