How to Fix Heavy + Delicate blinking Error
- DISCONNECT POWER. Shut off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher.
- PULL OUT THE DISHWASHER. Disconnect water and drain lines and pull the unit out from under the counter.
- TEST THE THERMISTOR. Locate the thermistor (DD32-00005A) in the sump assembly. Disconnect its wires and test its resistance with a multimeter. A reading outside the manufacturer’s specified range indicates it’s faulty and needs replacement. [2]
- TEST THE HEATING ELEMENT. The heating element (DD47-00060A) is a metal tube at the bottom of the tub. Disconnect its terminals and test for continuity with a multimeter. A reading of ‘OL’ or infinite resistance means the element is burned out.
- REPLACE FAULTY PARTS. Replace either the thermistor or the heating element based on your test results. The heating element is held by two nuts; undo them and pull the old element out, then install the new one with its rubber seals.
- REASSEMBLE AND TEST. Reconnect all components and wiring, slide the dishwasher back into place, and restore power to test.
