How to Fix AE Error

The meaning of this code depends on your washer type. Unplug the washer first.
For FRONT-LOAD washers, it’s a leak error. Check the drain pump filter for a loose cap. Inspect all hoses for visible leaks. If no leak is found, the leak sensor at the base of the machine may be faulty or has detected a small internal drip.
For TOP-LOAD washers, it’s a gear/clutch error. This indicates a mechanical failure in the drive system and typically requires replacement of the clutch assembly, which is a major repair.
