⚠️ Safety Warning: Appliance repair involves electricity, gas, and moving parts. Always disconnect power before working on any appliance.
Error Code: 7-1 Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Heater circuit failure; no expected water temperature rise
How to Fix 7-1 Error
- Disconnect the dishwasher from power.
- Remove the lower access panels to get to the components under the tub.
- Locate the hi-limit thermostat, a small device mounted on the bottom of the tub. Test it for continuity with a multimeter; it should have a closed circuit (near zero ohms) at room temperature. If it’s open, replace it.
- If the thermostat is good, test the heating element for continuity (should be 10-30 ohms). If the element is open or shorted, replace it.
- Check wiring between the thermostat, element, and control board for damage. If all components and wiring are good, the control board has a faulty relay and must be replaced.
