How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- Unplug refrigerator from electrical power. Turn off water supply valve.
- Remove interior panels to access water tank assembly (typically in fresh food compartment).
- Disconnect electrical wiring harness from water tank heater terminals.
- Test heater element resistance with multimeter: proper reading 30-80Ω. Infinite = open element.
- Test thermostat continuity mounted on water tank. Should be CLOSED when cold.
- Inspect heater element and wiring for visible damage, burns, or melted insulation.
- Drain water tank completely before proceeding with replacement.
- Remove mounting screws or clips securing water tank assembly. Extract old unit.
- Install new water tank assembly with heater using OEM part DA61-00125A. Ensure proper sealing.
- Reconnect wiring harness and water lines. Restore water and power. Verify water dispenser delivers properly chilled water without freezing issues.
