Error Code: Dryer Difficulty: Moderate
Problem: Temperature control error; heater not reaching target temperature due to sensor fault or element weakness
How to Fix Dryer Error
- UNPLUG dryer from electrical power.
- Remove rear access panel to access heater assembly and thermistor.
- Test exhaust thermistor resistance per tE error procedure (should be ~10kΩ at room temperature). Replace using OEM part DC34-00040A if faulty.
- Test heater element resistance (should be 10-30Ω). Replace heater assembly using OEM part DC97-15010A if resistance is high or inconsistent.
- Inspect thermal fuse on heater housing for continuity. Replace if open circuit.
- Check airflow path: remove lint filter, clean filter housing, inspect exhaust duct for kinks or blockages. Clear all lint buildup from blower housing and exhaust path.
- Reconnect all components securely. Reassemble panels.
- Restore power. Run timed dry cycle on HIGH heat while verifying exhaust temperature reaches 135-155°F within 10 minutes using external thermometer.
