How to Fix Dryer Error

  • UNPLUG dryer from electrical power and allow 45 minutes for heating chamber to cool completely.
  • Remove rear access panel to expose heating assembly and wiring harness.
  • Locate heater assembly mounted in heating chamber. Disconnect electrical wires from terminals. Label wires for correct reconnection.
  • Test heater element resistance with multimeter set to resistance mode: proper reading is 10-30Ω depending on model. Infinite resistance indicates open element.
  • Inspect wiring insulation near heater connections for melting, burns, or damage. Repair damaged sections with high-temperature wire nuts.
  • If element is faulty, replace entire heater assembly using OEM part DC97-15010A: remove mounting screws, extract old assembly, clean heating chamber of lint/debris, install new assembly with fresh gasket, torque screws to 12 in-lbs.
  • Verify thermal fuse continuity (mounted on heater housing) – replace if open circuit.
  • Reconnect wiring securely. Reinstall rear panel. Restore power and run 30-minute timed dry cycle on HIGH heat while monitoring exhaust temperature with thermometer (should reach 135-155°F).
