Problem: Water inlet valve failure preventing water flow to ice maker/dispenser
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- SHUT OFF water supply valve and UNPLUG refrigerator.
- Remove rear lower access panel.
- Locate water inlet valve (solenoid assembly with 1/4″ water line input and 2 outputs).
- Disconnect electrical connectors and water lines (have towels ready).
- Remove mounting screws and extract valve assembly.
- Test solenoid coils for continuity (should read 300-500 ohms each).
- Replace entire valve assembly if either coil open or leaking.
- Reconnect water lines hand-tight plus 1/4 turn, open supply valve slowly, check for leaks before restoring power.
- Test dispenser and ice maker operation.
