Problem: Ice level sensor/optic eye failure in freezer door detecting ice bin full condition
How to Fix Refrigerator Error
- UNPLUG refrigerator.
- Open freezer door and locate emitter/receiver sensors on opposite walls of ice chute (small red lenses).
- Clean lenses thoroughly with soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
- Check alignment – sensors must face each other directly without obstruction.
- Disconnect wiring harnesses and test continuity through sensor circuit.
- If sensors clean/aligned but error persists, replace both emitter and receiver assemblies (must replace as pair).
- Verify operation by placing hand between sensors – ice maker should stop when beam interrupted.
